Chicken Clear Soup with Dumplings in Slow Cooker (Crock pot)

We Indonesians eat rice all the time. Breakfast, lunch, dinner... sometimes when we are hungry, our "snacks" can be considered full meals by other people. But sometimes we don't feel like eating rice. And I made this instead. My kids still eat this with rice, though!

Ingredients

2.5 hours
4 servings
  1. 1 cupchicken broth
  2. 250 grchicken filet, cut into pieces
  3. 6shiitake mushrooms, sliced
  4. 2carrots, peeled and sliced
  5. 2 tbspchopped celery
  6. 1 tspsalt
  7. Crushed black pepper
  8. 1/2 tspgarlic powder (or garlic paste)
  9. dumplings:
  10. 3 tbspflour
  11. 1/4 tspparsley flakes
  12. 1/4 tspsalt
  13. 2 tbspwater

Cooking Instructions

    Combine all ingredients (except for dumplings) in a slow cooker. Stir well. Cook HIGH. My slow cooker is small and the soup should be ready in a couple of hours, but please adjust the timing to your slow cooker.

    After a couple of hours, make the dumplings. Combine all ingredients. It should form a thick paste.

    Spoon the paste to the soup, make sure the spooned parts do not touch each other. Cover again.

    After thirty minutes or so, your soup is ready!
