A Halloween treat that's like a cross between a candy apply and a rice krispie treat. I originally posted this on recipezaar/food.com. 2nd Place winner in the easy-kids-recipes.com Halloween Recipe Contest 2009.

Push a wooden stick into the top of each apple.

Put the marshmallows and butter in a medium sized microwave-safe bowl and heat on HIGH in the microwave for 15 seconds. Stir. Heat for another 10 seconds and stir. Marshmallows should be smooth and pourable at this point. If not, heat in 10 second intervals until ready.

While still very hot, dip each apple one at a time into the marshmallow (you may need to return to microwave for a few seconds if marshmallow starts to get stiff). Lightly roll each in crispy rice, and set on a wax paper-covered cookie sheet 1-2" apart.

Reheat any leftover marshmallows (you may need to add one or two at this point). With a spoon, drizzle remaining marshmallow over apples, giving them a "spiderweb" look. While still hot, add sprinkles to the coating, if desired.

Allow to cool completely before serving. These are very sticky, but tasty!

Of course, once I caught eye of this I went straight for it :). I am very lucky in regards to having this woman in my life, a very special lady. Anyway I have been watching her cook for many years and one recipe that I always found interesting is this Apple Preserve recipe.It is very simple to make but there is a twist to it. She always added 2 dashes of Rum.:). It tastes delicious.....that's if you like Rum, otherwise it taste delicious without the Rum.

Fresh Applesauce
This applesauce is the applesauce I grew up on. Every fall our family would go apple picking. We came home with tons of apples and this applesauce was a favorite . It's ultra smooth and silky, sweet and tart as no sugar or sweetner is added. Of course you can add sweetner if you like. A blend of tart and sweet apples works best and having some red apples gives a beautiful pimk color to the applesauce.
