Ingredients

  1. 1 cupred lentil
  2. 1 tspcumin pdr
  3. 1/2 tspcoriander pdr
  4. 1 1/2 tbspfresh ginger
  5. 1 1/2 tbspfresh garlic
  6. 1cinnamon stick
  7. 1/2 cupfresh cilantro
  8. 3 tbspolive oil
  9. 2 mediumtomato
  10. 1 cupkale
  11. 1jalapeno
  12. 1 tsppaprika
  13. 1 tspcayenne
  14. 1 tsptumeric
  15. 2clove
  16. 1bayleaf
  17. 2green cardamon
  18. 1/2 tspsalt or to taste
  19. 1 tspcumin seed (replace with pdr) black mustard seed (optional)
  20. 1 cuponion fine chop

Cooking Instructions

    remove debris from lentil wash and soak for 30-40 min.

  2. 2

    boil 2 cups water, add lentils cook till expanded and desired tenderness. keep a little firm as it will continue to cook with rest of ingredients later. remove scum after boil. drain and add to other mixture.

    chop onions, tomato, cilantro, kale, and jalapeno (if you want it chopped or place in whole).

    mince the ginger and garlic

    heat oil on medium, add onions, fry till golden brown

  6. 6

    add powdered spices, cinnamon, clove, cardamon, and fry 1 min

  7. 7

    add tomatoes garlic ginger

  8. 8

    add cilantro and kale fry 1-2 min

  9. 9

    combine the lentils with mixture and let cook on low heat till flavours come through and desired tenderness is reached.
