Instant Moong Dal Halwa

Moong dal halwa is a popular dessert recipe from rajasthan. This dessert requires lot of patience. It took so long to make this lip smacking halwa. But today I am sharing an easy and instant method of making moong dal halwa. So lets checkout the recipe.
Cooking Instructions

Heat 3 tsp ghee in a non stick pan on low medium heat. Add washed and drained moong dal and saute for 4-5 mins on medium flame or till it starts changing the colour.

Keep it aside and let it cool down completely.

Meanwhile we will make sugar syrup for making halwa.

In a pan, mix water,milk and sugar and boil it on low medium heat till sugar dissolves completely.

Now switch off the flame and keep this mixture aside.

Now take moong dal in a mixer jar and blend it for 2-3 pulse and make a coarse powder of moong dal.

Now in a pan heat 1 tbsp ghee and add nuts, saute till golden brown or till raisins get swollen.

Add moong dal powder and saute for 2-3 mins.

Now add sugar syrup in 2-3 batches and keep stirring well.

Add leftover ghee, cardamom powder and keep stirring. Cook for 4-5 mins and instant moong dal halwa is ready.

Garnish with some nuts and serve hot.
