Ingredients

  1. for kofta :-
  2. 2 cupsgrated cabbage
  3. 4-5 tbspgram flour
  4. 1/4 tspfennel seeds
  5. 1/4 tspcarom seeds
  6. 1/2 tspgrated ginger
  7. 1 pinchasafoetida
  8. 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  9. 2 pinchesturmeric powder
  10. 1green chilli finely chopped
  11. 1 tbspchopped coriander leaves
  12. to tasteSalt
  13. Forgravy:
  14. 2tomatoes roughly chopped
  15. 1green chilli roughly chopped
  16. 1small piece of ginger
  17. 1 tspcumin seeds
  18. 1 pinchasafoetida
  19. 1bay leaf
  20. 1small stick cinnamon
  21. 2cloves
  22. 1 tspgrated ginger
  23. 1 tspkasuri methi
  24. 2 tspcoriander powder
  25. 1 tspred chilli powder
  26. 1/2 tspkashmiri red chilli powder
  27. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  28. 2-3 tbspfresh whisked yoghurt
  29. 1/2 tspgaram masala powder
  30. to tasteSalt
  31. 2 tbspoil for making curry
  32. as requiredOil to deep fry the koftas

Cooking Instructions

    Firstly, mix all the ingredients of making koftas in a mixing bowl.

    Make lemon sized balls.

  3. 3

    Now heat oil in a wok and deep fry these balls on low medium flame till they are golden brown. Bring them out on a kitchen napkin and keep aside.

    Now add tomatoes, ginger and green chilli in a mixer jar. Blend it into a smooth paste. Keep aside.

    Heat oil in a wok on low medium flame.

  6. 6

    Add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, asafoetida and kasuri methi. Saute for few seconds.

    Now add in the tomato paste and cook till the masala starts leaving oil.

    Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and kashmiri red chilli powder. Saute for 1 minute.

    Now add in the whisked yoghurt, give it a quick mix.

    Add 1 1/2 cups water along with garam masala powder and salt.

  11. 11

    Cook the gravy for few minutes and add the fried koftas. Further cook for just one minute and switch off the flame.

    Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot with chapatis and rice.
