Gyoza (Fried Dumplings)

Can also be made out of prawn, minced chicken and shiitake mushrooms, but I only had minced pork and portobello mushrooms in the fridge at the time. Please adjust the total grams accordingly if you decide to change the filling.

Cara Membuat
- 1
In a medium bowl, mix all filling ingredients until evenly distributed.
- 2
How to wrap: Hold the wrapper on one hand, put 1/2 tbsp of filling in the middle of the circle. Dip your finger in egg white and wash over the top half of the circle. Carefully fold 6 pleats in same direction while pushing the filling inside with your ring finger. Shape the top into a curve. You may freeze leftover dumplings to fry another time up to 1 month. Make sure container is airtight.
- 3
Spread cooking oil in a frying pan on medium-high heat. When it is hot, arrange dumplings into a round flower petal shape. Fry the bottom part until golden brown.
- 4
Pour hot water until it soaks 1/3 part of dumplings. Close lid and let them steam for 10-15 mins until water is completely cooked off.
- 5
Remove lid, scrape the bottom of pan to make sure the wrappers don’t stick.
- 6
Put a plate upside down on the pan, tilt it over 180 degrees carefully to transfer dumplings to plate.
- 7
In a small bowl, mix in sauce ingredients. Adjust according to taste and serve.
