Grape and Blueberry Jam
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Wash the fruit and add to a pan with the water. Cook over a low/medium heat for 10 mins until the fruit starts to soften.
- 2
Once softened, mash the fruit using a potato masher. Some recipes call for the skins and seeds to be removed from the fruit base at this stage. I decided against this as I quite like my jam textured and it’s also much easier!
- 3
Add the sugar and lemon juice and stir well. Heat to a boil, then reduce and leave to cook for about 10 mins stirring regularly.
- 4
When it’s ready it will stick to the back of a spoon.
- 5
Transfer the jam to a container and leave to cool before putting it in the fridge. It will last a week or so. Enjoy!

Huckleberry Jam Huckleberry Jam
I heard that raw huckleberries were not tasty, but they have 4.5 times the amount of anthocyanin as blueberries. So when I received some I quickly turned them into jam.If you are in a hurry, crush well and start to make the jam straight away.Huckleberries are harder than blueberries, so it's better to add water and then start to heat. This prevents them from burning, and it's easier to make. You can use vinegar instead of lemon to prevent discolouring. (Use 1/2 a tablespoon.) Recipe by Runrun cookpad.japan -
