Ingredients

  • 200 gmPaneer cut into small cubes
  • 1 cupgreen peas matar
  • 1Big glass Basmati rice washed and soaked for 15 mins
  • 2onion cut into thin slices
  • 1tomato finely chopped
  • 2green chilli slit into lenthwise
  • 1 tspGinger Garlic paste
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1/2 tspRed chilli powder
  • 1-2 tspbiryani/pulav masala or kitchen king masala
  • 2 tbspoil
  • 1 tbsp- ghee
  • to tasteSalt
  • 2 glasswater (double the rice quantity for cooking)
  • as neededCoriander leaves for garnish
  • 1/2 tspLemon juice

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat a deep pan and put in the oil and ghee.When it gets heated add the sliced onion & slit green chilli.

  2. 2

    Then add the ginger garlic paste.Saute well for 2 minutes.Now add all the masalas in it.Mix well.Then add the chopped tomato.Fry well till it gets cooked.

  3. 3

    Then add in the green peas and fry for a minute or so.Add the washed soaked rice and fry for a few minutes.

  4. 4

    Now add the paneer cubes.Gently mix everything.Then add water and salt. Squeeze in the lemon and mix well.

  5. 5

    Cover the pan and let it cook for 5 to 7 minutes till the rice gets cooked well,on low to medium flame.

  6. 6

    Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with the raita of your choice.
