2 tbspsugar
1/2 tbspsalt
1/2 tbsppeppercorns
1bayleaf
1chilli pepper
garlic and onion

Sautee garlic and onion

Add peppercorns, soy sauce, vinegar, salt, sugar, and water

Keep the heat low and reduce

Add bayleaf and chilli pepper

Simmer and adjust to taste
