I used to do, Kadhi pakode , with a lot of variation in pakoda ingredients. But , this pakoda or kofta for the kadhi , I made is new and innovative. As more or less the making of kadhi is similar, the difference of taste of pakode/kofta if used, certainly, brings a change in the taste of the kadhi.

So this cheese kofta kadhi is so delicious and delightful, only because of the ingredients used to make the koftas and whey is used to make the kadhi , instead of water for the gravy.

Ingredients

  • for the koftas
  • 200 gmfresh cheese, homemade
  • 1 cupchopped khada saag, from my garden
  • 1 cupchopped, potatoes
  • 1medium onion, chopped
  • 3small chili, chopped
  • 1/2 tspcumin powder
  • 1 tbspginger, garlic and red chili powder, paste
  • 1/4 cupbesan
  • 1 tbspcornstarch
  • Salt as require
  • Oil for shallow frying
  • for kadhi
  • 800 mlwhey
  • 1/4 cupbesan, lighting fried
  • 1 cupcurd
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • Salt as required
  • for tempering
  • 1 tbspoil
  • 1/4 tsphing powder
  • 2-3chili
  • 1/4 tspmethi seeds
  • 1/3cumin seeds
  • 1/3mustard seeds
  • 8-10crushed,garlic cloves

    Mix well the ingredients of kofta. Make the koftas according to choice and shallow fry in medium flame, both the sides of koftas.

    Beat the curd and mix the fried 1/4 cup besan with it, ensuring, no lumps formation. Mix the curd mixture with the whey.

    In the same kadhai (koftas were fried) heat the oil and first add the methi seeds, cover and let them splutter. Then add mustard and cumin seeds and allow to splutter them. Add crushed garlic and fry.

    Add the prepared kadhi (whey mix) and boil for 7 minutes in low-medium flame. Then add the cheese koftas and boil for 2 minutes. Add the tempered chili to the kadhi.

    Serve the delicious cheese kofta kadhi with steamed rice.
