Beef Caldereta Beef Caldereta
This recipe is called Beef Caldereta or Kalderetang Baka which is a beef stew from the Philippines, brought by the Spanish people during their 300-year occupation in the country. The word “caldereta” is derived from the Spanish word “caldera”, which means “cauldron”, a large cast iron pot for cooking or boiling over an open fire, with a large pot and frequently with an arc-shaped hanger. There are many variations of this recipe but commonly, it is meat stewed with potatoes, carrots, bell pepper, pickle relish, green peas, peanut butter, tomato sauce, and liver paste. But for this recipe, I am going to be omitting liver paste, so this is still perfect for those who do not eat pork.Recipe by: @HomebasedChef homebasedchef -
Crockpot beef stew my way. Crockpot beef stew my way.
Decided dinner was going to be whatever I cooked in the crockpot tonite, so I rummaged around the pantry and fridge. This is the first time I ever added diced tomato or kidney beans to a beef stew. WOW! I surprised myself with how well it came out and tasted. lokiclv -

P-lo's Carne Guisado 👈 🏼Spanish Beef stew P-lo's Carne Guisado 👈 🏼Spanish Beef stew
My grandmother made this and I gave it my twist!.. Good as stew or over rice... Keep your carrots and potatoes a lager cut this way when it's boiling down doesn't turn to mush and add frozen peas I find better hold than can peas the last 5 minutes .. For a robust flavor add tub of Sofrito in frozen Spanish section .. I will make soon and post.. My grandmother added can of tomato sauce as well when I add my tomatoes plus small can of tomato paste when add Sazon packets... Didn't have so didn't use good either way heather_p_lo -
