Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cut the potatoes into suitable slices and microwave. After microwaving for 5-10 minutes, check to see if the potato is cooked through by piercing a toothpick through.
- 2
Mash the potatoes and season with salt and butter.
- 3
Cook the ground meat in a pan, and add the salt and pepper. Transfer to a bowl. Sweat the onions in the same pan.
- 4
Mix the potatoes, ground meat, onions, sugar and milk. Taste and adjust with more salt and pepper if needed.
- 5
Flatten the mixture. Divide into 12 wedges.
- 6
Mold into oval (or other shaped) patties.
- 7
Coat patties first in flour, beaten egg, panko then again in egg and panko.
- 8
Fry in oil heated to 170-180°C. Since the insides are already cooked, fry until the outside has lightly browned.
