Tropical Crispy Garlic Salad

One of my co-workers was really into the crispy garlic boom that was going on, and I got dragged into it too. I only occasionally have mangosteen at home, usually I don't have it, so sometimes I use something else.
Since the sauce is pretty sweet, it would probably go well with grapefruit or any other tart fruit.

Steps
- 1
Slice the garlic into 2 mm pieces.
- 2
Heat the vegetable oil in the frying pan and cook the garlic on low heat.
- 3
Once the garlic becomes golden brown, remove to a paper towel to drain off the oil. Garlic chips!
- 4
After removing the garlic, add balsamic vinegar to the remaining vegetable oil in the frying pan. Heat until it becomes slightly thickened. Once thickened, turn off the heat.
- 5
Peel the mangosteen.
- 6
It's peeled.
- 7
Top the baby lettuce leaves with the mangosteen and pour on the sauce from Step 4. Scatter on the crispy garlic and it's done.
