Chewy Black Sesame Seed Bread With Tapioca Powder

I wanted to make "Polipia" from my local bakery myself, and I went through lots of trial and error.
★ Adjust the baking time and temperature accordingly, depending on your oven.
★ If you only add sesame seeds into the dough, use 2/3 teaspoon salt. If adding ham and cheese, use about 1/2 teaspoon salt!
★ This bread hardens if it's over-baked. So stop baking when it's light brown. Recipe by nekoland

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Combine the ☆ milk, water, oil and salt in a pot, and heat up. Turn off the heat right before it comes to a boil, and add the tapioca powder.
- 2
Mix well with a spatula since it's hot. When it's no more floury, add the beaten egg and sesame seeds, and mix well.
- 3
When the mixture is cool enough to touch, knead well. Divide the dough into 8 portions, and shape them into sticks. (They also look cute if you shape them into balls.)
- 4
Depending on the size of the egg, or how it's heated in Step 1, the dough may become too sticky. If it's difficult to shape, add a little tapioca powder to adjust the consistency.
- 5
Bake at 190℃ for 15-20 minutes, and when they are light brown, they are done.
- 6
I added curry powder and ground cheese to the dough to make these. "With Tapioca Powder. Chewy Curry Cheese Bread"
- 7
It's also delicious if you add ham and processed cheese into the dough. Use 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- 8
Olive oil has a strong flavor, so I recommend using a neutral vegetable oil.

I had leftover snow cone syrup and leftover pumpkin paste and wondered if I could use these up in the steamed bread. It is hard to mix the mayonnaise and water, so I recommend adding a small amount of water at a time. I really wanted to eat some chewy steamed bread but when I tried to make it with shiratamako, it just wouldn't mix.I should use it for dango instead, so I tried with bread flour and it went quite well.・Pancake mix is a little sweet, whereas rice flour is not, so it needs a bit more sugar than the recipes that use 100% pancake mix.・These have a really light taste so they go well with jam or something similar.
