Cooking Instructions

Place the refined flour in a plate and add 2 tablespoons of clarified butter. Add carom seeds and salt. Mix thoroughly well to ensure butter is evenly mixed with flour.

Add water to the flour and mix. Knead the dough thoroughly for about 5 minutes. Keep it covered for 10 minutes.

Uncover the dough and knead it again for sometime. Roll the dough and cut to make equal size balls.

Take 1 dough ball and roll it like a roti as thin as possible. Cut the roti in 8 triangular shapes. Roll each triangular piece into a croissant shape mathri.

Heat the cooking oil in a frying pan and fry the mathris on medium flame. When the mathris are well fried to a golden colour, Take them out in a plate.

Mathris are ready to be served with a hot cup of tea or coffee.
