Someone gave my youngest daughter a huge box of pancake mix because her three daughters, my youngest 3 granddaughters, love pancakes. I watch them while she works. Well we had a huge package of mix before. The granddaughters decided to "cook" the pancakes. So while their mommy took a shower the kids mixed the pancakes. Well they did it and it got dropped went everywhere. You know when flour and water mixed makes a glue like paste. Well pancake mix does the same paste-like mixture, it dried so mommy had to scrape and scrub everything. I would have made 3 granddaughters do it, lol, well anyway that's part of my crazy life.
So I decided to put this to use before a calamity came, lol. So I was talking with my daughter about this package of mix. We was throwing verbal thoughts back, and forth and came up with this brilliant idea. So here it is. It's kinda based on the old time jamcakes.

Ingredients

  1. As neededNutella
  2. 2/3 cupstrawberry jam
  3. 1/3 cupwater
  4. 4 cupspancake mix go by what your package says
  5. 3 cupswater again go by what your package says
  6. As needednonstick spray

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 375° Fahrenheit. Mix according to package. It said to turn electric skillet to 375° Fahrenheit so I did the oven that way.

  2. 2

I heated the pans slightly and sprayed them with nonstick spray. I used two 8x8 pans. Divided the batter in half poured into each pan.

  3. 3

I baked them for 34 minutes. I did take them out of oven and stuck each in the middle at about 25 minutes. It came up a smidge wet. So I put back into the oven.

  4. 4

I took it out to cool put into a glass plate then I remembered in the past cakes sticking to the bottom of the plates so I lifted them off carefully. I put down wax, or as some know it by butter paper.

  5. 5

After cooling I got the strawberry jam and Nutella. I took 2/3 cup of the strawberry jam and put into a pan with a third cup of water. Melted the jam.

  6. 6

Once melted spread on one layer of the cakes stack the cakes upon each other having the layer between the two.

  7. 7

Cover the cake with Nutella. Serve, I hope you enjoy!!!
