On this auspicious day of Anant Chaturdashi, we see off Ganapati bappa and offer delicious delicacies to him before we perform the visarjan.. with heavy hearts.. requesting bappa to come soon next year! I prepared this Kesariya Kalakand or Saffron Milk Fudge!
As it has Saffron and milk, a similar dessert is prepared in kashmiri Cuisine too!

Ingredients

20 minutes
6 servings
  1. 2 cupsMilk malai
  2. 3/4 cupOrganic sugar
  3. 1 tablespoonGhee
  4. 10 threadsKesar soaked in warm milk
  5. 5 tiny crystalsCitric acid
  6. 5 dropsSaffron food colour
  7. 1/2 tspCardamom powder
  8. fewRose petals to garnish

Cooking Instructions

20 minutes
  1. 1

    First, transfer all the ingredients into a microwave safe bowl. (Leaving sugar and food colour)

    Then cook on 70% power stirring after every 2 minutes.

    Then the milk malai will start getting thick. Now add sugar, mix well and cook further till the mixture has no moisture. Add colour and saffron milk.

    Remove from oven,cover and cool completely. Then add food colour and mix well.

  5. 5

    Transfer to a greased tray and press well. Cut into squares. Garnish with rose petals. Set in fridge for 3 to 4 hours.

    Offer to the ganesha and say:
    गणपती बाप्पा मोरया 🌹
    मंगल मूर्ती मोरया 🌹
    पुढच्या वर्षी लवकर या!🙏
