Wash the cabbage and cut fine, wash the potatoes, peel and cube, wash the prawns, devein and retaining the tails set all aside

Marinate the prawns with turmeric powder and salt and set aside

In a wok heat mustard oil and add the prawns, fry for 2 mins and set aside

In the same wok add rest of the oil, add bay leaf, cumin seeds, dry red chilli and add cabbage, potatoes and stir to cook well for 5-6 mins

The cabbage would be fried and so would the potatoes.

Add ginger paste, turmeric powder, cumin powder and stir well. Cook till ginger raw smell leaves. Mix red chilli powder with water and add to cabbage. Cover to cook for 3-4 mins

Add fried prawns and peas and mix well

Add salt and sugar and mix. Add ghee and garam masala powder and mix well.

Serve with rice and enjoy a delicacy from Bengal
