It has the goodness of sesame seeds and the sweetness of jaggery. In this recipe, the sesame seeds are roasted and ground into a coarse powder.

It has the goodness of sesame seeds and the sweetness of jaggery. In this recipe, the sesame seeds are roasted and ground into a coarse powder.

Heat a pan. Add the sesame seeds and dry roast it perfectly on low flame till it changes color, stirring continuously. Off the flame.

Allow it to cool completely. Assemble all the required ingredients.

Keep 2 tablespoon of the roasted sesame seeds aside and transfer the remaining to a grinding jar and grind it to a coarse powder.

Heat a non-stick pan. Add the ghee. When the ghee melts, add the roasted sesame seeds powder and roast on low flame for a minute.

Add the desiccated coconut and roast on low flame for another minute.

Add the chopped jaggery and mix until the jaggery melts.

Add the cardamom powder and mix it well. The mixture is ready.

Transfer the mixture on a glass tray lined with parchment/butter paper. Spread it and place another sheet on top to help spread it evenly.

Remove the top sheet and sprinkle the roasted sesame seeds which was kept aside. Again place the sheet and press gently so that the sesame seeds gets embedded in the burfi. Keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.

Remove the sheet and cut away the ends from all four sides.

Further cut into desired shapes.
