Ingredients

15 minutes
3 person
  • 2 tbspoil
  • 2 tbsppeanuts
  • 2 tbspcashew nuts
  • 1 tspmustard seeds
  • 1 tspurad dal
  • 1 tspgram dal
  • 2no dry kashmiri red chilly
  • 1 inchfinely chopped ginger
  • 2no finely chopped green chilly
  • 1/4 tspasafoetida
  • 8-10sweet curry leaves
  • 1no big size finely chopped onion (optional)
  • 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  • 2 cupcooked rice / leftover rice
  • as per tasteSalt
  • 2 tbsplemon juice
  • 2 tbspfinely chopped green coriander leaves

Steps

15 minutes
  1. 1

    First of all, heat oil in a pan and add peanuts and cashews in it on slow gas flame and fry it. Then take out these fried peanuts and cashews in another plate.

    Now add mustard seeds to the same oil, when the mustard seeds splutters, add gram dal, urad dal.

    Now add dry kashmiri red chillies, chopped ginger, chopped green chillies, asafoetida and sweet curry leaves and saute.

    Now add finely chopped onion to this and fry it on slow gas flame till the onion becomes soft. After that add salt, turmeric powder to this and mix well and saute for a while.

    Then add cooked rice to this and mix well. Now add fried peanuts and cashew nuts to this and mix well and let it cook on slow gas flame for 2 minutes.

    Now turn off the flame and add lemon juice and finely chopped green coriander leaves and mix well.

    Now our delicious South Indian Style Lemon Rice is ready to serve. This rice can be taken in dinner.
