Grilled Ham and Chikuwa with Mayonnaise

I came up with this recipe to use up the chikuwa that's been sitting in the fridge.

If you want to use the same frying pan for another dish (to reduce dirty dishes), spread parchment paper on the frying pan before you cook. These are also good toasted in a toaster oven. For 6 servings. Recipe by Shiawasenashokutaku

Ingredients

6 servings
  1. 3Chikuwa
  2. 2 sliceHam
  3. 2 tbspMayonnaise
  4. 1 dash● Coarsely ground black pepper
  5. 1Vegetable oil

Cooking Instructions

    Cut the chikuwa in half lengthwise. Slice ham to the same size as the chikuwa.

    Spread out the chikuwa with the outside (the browned side) facing up. Top with ham, and roll it up. Skewer with a pick.

    Heat a frying pan and spread vegetable oil. Grill both sides of the chikuwa roll (from step 2).

    When both sides are golden brown, add mayonnaise and coarsely ground black pepper and serve.
