Ingredients

  1. 2.2 lbscoarsely ground masa (about 1 kg)
  2. 1/4 cuppork lard (about 60 grams)
  3. 1.1 lbspork (about 500 grams)
  4. corn husks for tamales
  5. green salsa, red salsa, or other salsa
  6. meat broth

Steps

  1. 1

    Dissolve the masa thoroughly in the meat broth.

    Heat the lard in a pan and fry the masa mixture.

    Stir constantly and cook until the mixture thickens.

    Wash the corn husks, then spread a little of the masa mixture on each husk. Add a piece of pork and some salsa, then wrap the husk around the filling.

    Arrange the tamales in a steamer and cook over heat for about 40 minutes, or until the masa is fully cooked.

    Once cooked, enjoy your tamales.
