Chhattisgarh have its own tribal cuisine, coming to this Khurmi, its one of the traditional sweets prepared in this state. Along with khurmi, balooshahi,kusli and gulgula are well known sweets of Chhattisgarh. this sweet is very easy to prepare but very addictive. Wheatflour, jaggery, ghee and sesame seeds are the main ingredients for making this sweet, once deepfried you can conserve this sweet very well. They can lasts for many days.

First of all, prepare all the ingredients. Roast the groundnuts and coarsely grind them, dissolve the jaggery in water. Sieve the wheat flour and add all the ingredients, ghee and mix well. Then make a stiff dough with jaggery water.

Let the prepared dough rest for 10 minutes. After that, take a big lump out of it, roll and make them into oblong shaped discs which are slightly on the thicker side. as shown in the photo. press the khurmi on bamboo basket or slightly cut with knife (as shown in photo)for authentic design.

Heat oil in a pan and fry the prepared khurmi on medium to low flame. When both sides are golden in color, take it out.

The special sweet khurmi of Chhattisgarh is ready.
