This soup is mostly eaten during rainy season when these leaves are in abundance. It is combined with fresh cooked corn. It is a popular meal in Uzuakoli community in Abia State Nigeria. It is very rich in minerals and fiber. It is a meal for all age groups and very enjoyable.

Wash fresh corn and boil till tender, strain out water and transfer the corn into a warmer to keep warm.

Pick your leaves 🌿☘️, wash, slice neatly and set aside.

Wash okra and slice neatly and set aside.

Pour about two to three cups of water into a clean pot, depending on the quantity of soup you intend to serve and set on fire.

Pour in the sliced okra and allow to cook for 3 minutes

Add the sliced leaved ☘️🌿and cover the pot for 2 minutes to get a bit soft.

Add blended pepper and salt, stir very well and allow to cook for another 3 to 5 minutes and it is done

Serve corn separately in a flat plate. Serve your soup in a bowl and add palm oil on top of the soup. Mix very well and enjoy your meal by eating the corn and the soup together 😀
