  1. 2chopped red tomatoes
  2. 1green chilli
  3. 1/4 tbsp black pepper powder
  4. 5curry leaves
  5. 1.4 tbspchopped ginger
  6. 1/4 cuppigeon dal
  7. 2tamarind slices
  8. 1 tablespoonoil
  9. 1/2” cinnamon stick
  10. 1/4 tbspmustard seeds
  11. 1/4 tbspturmeric powder
  12. 1/2 tbsp rasam powder

    “First, keep all the ingredients ready. In a cooker, add chopped tomatoes, green chillies, pigeon dal, cinnamon stick, garlic, and ½ cup of water. Close the lid and cook for 2 vessels.”

    “Once the cooker cools, mash all the boiled ingredients. Heat another pan, add oil and mustard seeds. When they crackle, add cumin seeds, asafoetida, and curry leaves. Then add the mashed tomato mixture.

    “Add black pepper powder, rasam powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Boil for 2 minutes. Your Kerala-style rasam is ready. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.”
