Ingredients

30 minutes
2 - 3 persons
  1. 1 cupjowar (sorghum) flour
  2. 1/2 cupwheat flour
  3. 1/4 cup besan (chick peas) flour
  4. 1/2 cup cooked methi leaves and 1 medium size onion chopped finely
  5. To make thecha - 2 spicy green chillies, 4 garlic cloves, 1/4 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves and 1 tbsp peanuts and 1 tsp oil
  6. Spices - 1/2 tsp each of salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, carom seeds
  7. 1 tbsp sesame seeds and 2 tbsp or little more oil to roast thalipith

Steps

    To make thecha, add oil to a fry pan, then add cumin seeds, garlic cloves, green chilies, and peanuts. Fry for a minute and then grind.

  2. 2

    Add all flours mix well, then add salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder, carom seeds, sesame seeds and mix well.

  3. 3

    Add 1 tbsp of thecha, finely chopped onion, cooked methi leaves and mix again. Make a dough by adding water. It may require 1/2 cup water or little more. Keep in mind that onion will the dough softer so add water accordingly.

    Cover the dough and keep it for 10 minutes.

  5. 5

    Now take dough and make medium sized ball. Place the ball on butter paper and flatten it with palm using little oil.

  6. 6

    Heat tawa on medium heat. Apply little oil and place flat bread thalipith. Roast it on both sides till golden colour,using oil. Make similarly all thalipith.

  7. 7

    Serve thalipith with homemade butter, sweet pickle, thecha or curd.
