Snickerdoodles

Many snickerdoodle recipies tried until I finally made one of my own. They are light, and not overly sweet.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 350°F.
- 2
Measure flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in a sifter. Sift, and set aside.
- 3
Mix shortening, sugar, and egg together with an electric mixer until creamy.
- 4
Slowly mix in the dry ingredients to the wet. Small amounts at a time. Stir until blended.
- 5
Roll dough into walnut sized balls and roll in cinnamon sugar. Place on ungreased cookiesheet about 2 inches apart.
- 6
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Cookies are done when the edges of the cookies just slightly begin to gain color. Cracks will form with small bubbles popping. You do not want a golden color.

Snickerdoodles Snickerdoodles
The Conlon family cookie. 💜 I'll bet a million snickerdoodles passed through our Shawnee pig cookie jar over the decades. Ms. Shawnee has retired after 75 years of loving service, but the snickerdoodles will never retire. There's NO better milk-dunkin' cookie.....PERIOD!#GoldenApron23 Maggie Conlon
