Crostata
Learned this recipe from a friend while I lived in Italy
Cooking Instructions
- 1
In a bowl, work the butter with a fork until smooth and soft
- 2
Scrape the lemon, and put the peel in the butter
- 3
Add the flour, sugar, egg yolks, egg white, salt, squeezed lemon juice, and mix until homogeneous
- 4
Place mixture in fridge for 15 minutes
- 5
In a round pan, spread evenly 3/4 of the mixture
- 6
Spread an even layer of your preferred jam on top (I used plum jam)
- 7
With what is left of the butter and flour mixture, make thin stripes and decorate your crostata in a criss cross manner, as shown in the picture
- 8
Place in a pre-heated oven at 200°C for 10-15 minutes
- 9
Serve after it has completely cooled off and hardened. ENJOY!!!

Crostata (Italian Preserve Tart) Crostata (Italian Preserve Tart)
I usually make crostata with butter, but it turned out lighter when I used margarine. If you use a one-use aluminium pan (the kind you use to cook when camping) to bake this, you can give it to someone as a gift. You could also make this recipe with 150 g cake flour, or substitute some of the cake flour with wheat flour, which makes it crunchy and delicious.Even if the dough feels flaky, don't add any more water. Let it sit in a plastic bag for a while so that the ingredients blend together, making the dough easier to handle. Put the dough in the refrigerator if the crust softens while you're shaping it.You could also make this recipe without almond flour, using 150 g of cake flour instead. Biscotti Biscotti
I arranged something delicious that I learned overseas in the simplest way possible. It is perfect for beginners. In addition to the 3 ingredients for the plain biscotti, you can try adding other ingredients such as cocoa, green tea, brown sugar, rum, chocolate chips, paprika, adzuki beans, etc. By the way, biscotti apparently means "baked twice" in Italian. I like the texture of both baking it once and twice. For about 12 pieces. Recipe by mini cookpad.japan -
