Gum Drop Chocolate Chip Cookies

During my childhood one of my neighbors used to make these & give them out every Christmas. I adored these cookies, but was the only person in my family who did. So we never made them. Eventually we moved & lost touch with that nieghbor. As an adult I remembered these fondly & have tried several recipes. This addaptation tastes just like my dear old nieghbor's version & really brings the memories of Christmases gone by back. Great cookie to make with children.
