Remove core from cabbage with sharp knife

par-boil cabbage in water, removing a few leaves at a time.

Trim down the large leaf vein for easier rolling

Pat leaves dry with paper towel

fine shop 1/2 of onion and saute in butter
- 6
combine sauteed onion, meat, rice, egg, salt, and pepper. mix well

add spoonful of meat mixuture to each leaf, rolling tightly and folding ends in to seal

line bottom of large pot with leftover small cabbage leaves and sprinkle with the vinegar

place all holupki in pot, seam down

pour tomato sauce, soup, and two cans water into pot. put pot on to boil
- 11
saute remaining onion half in vegetable oil. add flour and stir well. cook until mixture browns.

remove some liquid fron the holupki pot and add to onion sauce base. stir well, then pour back over holupki

continue boiling for 1 1/2 hours
