Ingredients

20 minutes
5 servings
  • 1/2 CupGhee (Clarified Butter)
  • 1 CupWhole Wheat Flour(atta)
  • 1 Cupchopped Gurr/ jaggery (Ratio of Flour to gurr is 1:1)
  • 4 CupsWater appx
  • 2 TbspChopped Almonds
  • 2 TbspChopped Cashews
  • 1 Tbspcoconut powder

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Mix Gurr and water in a pan. Boil and keep aside.

  2. 2

    Heat ghee in wok.

  3. 3

    Add the flour and roast till the flour become brownish. Keep stirring frequently. (The flour is done roasting when it emanates a strong aroma which can be smelled from far)

  4. 4

    Sprinkle in the coconut powder and almonds,cashews and incorporate them well into the mixture.

  5. 5

    Now add the water gurr solution into the wok slowly, stirring continuously. (Make sure there are no lumps)

  6. 6

    Cook for a few minutes while stirring continuously till the halwa leaves the sides of the wok.

    7. Garnish with chopped nuts and serve.
