Steps

Cook bacon until crisp, set aside

Add onions & potatoes to the bacon grease, cook for 5 minutes

Add flour & stir, cook a couple more minutes & season with salt & pepper

Add ONLY the liquid from the clams & the bottled clam juice

Cook about 20 minutes until potatoes are fork tender

Remove from heat add reserved clams & cream, stir

Re season with salt & pepper, if needed

Crumble bacon & add back into chowder & top with chopped chives
