Ugadi Pachadi
#rawmango - The term Ugadi is derived from the Sanskrit words yuga (age) and adi (beginning): “the beginning of a new age.”
Ugadi(ఉగాది) marks the new year of our Telugu Calendar. The festival is observed on the first day Lunisolar calendar , “Chaitra Maasam.”
But the main ingredients in the pachadi are presented below and form Shadruchulu (six tastes).
Each home prepares the recipe in it’s own style. The pachadi is a notable festive food that combines all flavors – sweet, sour, salty, bitter. It is a symbolic reminder that one must expect all flavors of experiences in the coming new year and make the most of them.
