For my second tofu arranged recipe, I wanted to make a main dish and I came up with this recipe! This time I'm using an Okinawan-style tofu. It's healthier than regular steak and probably easier to cook than you think! You can also adjust seasoning of the sauce depending on how you would like this tofu steak to taste.

Ingredients

  1. 210 gokinawan-style tofu
  2. Appropriate amount of potato starch
  3. 1/4onion
  4. 70 gshimeji-mushroom
  5. Appropriate amont of scallion(edge cut)
  6. 2 tbspsoy sauce
  7. 2 tbspmirin(sweet rice wine)
  8. 1 tbsprice wine
  9. 1/2 tsp☆grated garlic

Cooking Instructions

    Mix the ☆s to make the Japanese-style sauce.

    Wrap your tofu with paper towels and put it on a bakeware. Then put it in a microwave(600W) for 2 to 3 minutes.

    While your tofu is in a microwave, cut your onion and shimeji-mushroom.

    Heat some oil and put them in a frying pan on medium heat. When they start to turn golden brown, remove them.

    Slice your tofu into 3 slices and cover them with potato starch. Then put them in a frying pan.

    After flipping your tofu, add your onion and shimeji-mushroom. Then mix with your sauce well.

    Transfer your tofu steak on a plate and finish it with scallion on top!

I had the tofu when I went to okinawa and was surprised how thick & heavy it was! I was wondering what would be a good way to cook... I'll try this!
