Ingredients

  • 1/4 cupchopped mint leaves (podhina)
  • 1/4 cupchopped cilantro (hara dhania)
  • 1 tablespoonchopped ginger (adrak)
  • 1 tablespooncumin seed dry roasted and powdered (bhuna jeera)
  • Pinchasafetida (hing)
  • 1 teaspoonsalt
  • 1 teaspoonblack salt (kala Namak)
  • 3 tablespoonslemon juice
  • 2 tablespoontamarind seedless (imli)
  • 2 tablespoonsugar adjust to taste
  • 4 cupswater
  • 1 cupcrushed ice
  • 1/2 litreSoda
  • 1 tspdried mint powder
  • 2 tbspsboondi

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak Tamarind in lukewarm water for about half an hour.Then crush the pulp with hands and sieve the purée.

  2. 2

    Pound the cumin seeds, black salt and amchur in a mortar with pestle. Grind the mint leaves and coriander leaves with sufficient water into a smooth paste.

  3. 3

    Add the lemon juice and pounded masala and mix well. Put ice cubes in two tall glasses. Divide the concentrate equally and top up with soda.

  4. 4

    Mix well. garnish with boondi and dry mint powder.

  5. 5

    Serve immediately.Very useful beverage for summer season.
