Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 6large ripe tomatoes, cut crossways into 1/4" slices
  2. 1 lbfresh mozzarella, cut into 1 /4" slices
  3. 6 tbspextra-virgin olive oil
  4. 3 tbspbalsamic vinegar
  5. to tasteSalt and freshly ground black pepper
  6. 8-12fresh basil leaves

Steps

    Arrange the slices of tomato and cheese on a large platter, alternating them in a decorative pattern.

  2. 2

    In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. Drizzle the dressing over the tomato and mozzarella slices. Cut the fresh basil leaves into thin strips and sprinkle then over the dish. Serve immediately.
