In a deep based frying pan heat ghee and spread out evenly. Add the poppy seeds and fry till they turn brown.

Dry grind the poppy seeds into a coarse form in a grinder.

In the meantime boil the milk in a saucepan. Add the cardamoms splitting them.

When the milk start becoming dense add the sugar and ground poppy seeds into it and stir thoroughly.

Keep stirring till the poppy seeds get soft and properly cooked.

Remove from the flame and allow to cool. Garnish with the cashews and serve hot or chilled with puris.
