Oats Upma

The addition of onion, ginger and other spices makes it very delicious and healthy. You can go ahead and add veggies of your choice. Heat the ghee in a pan and roast the oats for a minute till you get a good aroma. Keep aside. Heat oil and temper with mustard seeds.

After it stops spluttering, add the urad dal, chana dal and curry leaves. Saute till the dal changes colour. Add the onion, ginger and green chilies. Saute till light brown.

Now add the oats, salt, turmeric powder, fried nuts and 2 1/2 cups water and cook, on a low flame till it thickens. Serve, garnished with coriander leaves.
