Steps

Clean the chicken, wash well and keep aside

Measure the rice, wash thoroughly and soak for about 20 minutes

Roughly chop the onions, tomatoes and slit the green chillies and keep aside.

Use an airtight thick bottom vessel or use your cooker for making biryani.

Heat the ghee and little oil in the vessel and add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, Bay leaves, star anise and fennel seeds and saute for few seconds.

Add onions and chillies and cook till light brown and add mint leaves and then Ginger garlic paste to the vessel and cook for few minutes.

Then add chopped tomatoes and cook till the tomatoes get mashed. Add salt, turmeric powder, mixed chilli powder and biryani masala and mix well.

Now add curd and lemon juice and mix well. Then add the chicken and cook for 5 minutes. Add water measuring 1and 1/2 Cups of water for 1 cup of rice.

Allow the water to boil and add the rice to the vessel. Once the water with rice started boil, add coriander leaves, mix well and close the vessel tight with the lid and put the weight if cooker.

Simmer the stove and allow the contents to cook for about 10 minutes at slow fire. After switching off the stove allow the vessel on opened and sit for 15 more minutes.

Now our delicious chicken biryani is ready to be served with onion raitha or any other side dish as you wish
