Potato Sesame Toast

I have always been fond of food as far as my memory can take me. My parents introduced me to cooking and I took to it like a fish to water. Once there was a packet of whole wheat bread and I wanted to prepare something different. As there were some boiled potatoes in the refrigerator, I thought why not try something different. Well, this is one of my most favourite dishes in the world because it is spicy, crispy and very filling. It is also the perfect finger food.

Steps
- 1
Take medium sized boiled potatoes (uble aloo).
- 2
Mash the potatoes (aloo).
- 3
Add red chilli (lal mirch) powder, coriander (dhania) powder, cumin (jeera) powder, garam masala powder and salt (namak). You may change the quantity of the masalas based on your preference.
- 4
Then, add chopped coriander (dhaniya) leaves.
- 5
Mix everything properly.
- 6
Apply unsalted butter (makkhan) to one side of the bread.
- 7
Spread the potato mixture on the bread.
- 8
Then, spread white sesame seeds (safed til) on a plate.
- 9
Place the side of the bread with the potato mixture facing downwards and gently press it so that the white sesame seeds stick to it properly. Then, apply butter (makkhan) to the other side of the bread.
- 10
Heat a tawa (griddle) and place the toast with the potato sesame side facing downwards.
- 11
After a minute, flip the toast and cook it on a low flame till it becomes crisp.
- 12
Once it is crisp, remove it on a plate.
- 13
Cut it into desired shapes and Bon Appetit!!! You may eat it with green chutney or ketchup. I love it without any accompaniments.
