Easy Okonomiyaki with Flour Easy Okonomiyaki with Flour
I had so much cabbage that I wanted to use it up. Since I didn't have okonomiyaki flour, I used regular flour instead. Please change the ingredients to your liking! It's also nice topped with bonito flakes and aonori seaweed. I've only eyeballed the ingredients, so adjust the amount of water. You can freeze whatever's left to serve as snacks later. I love Yatsuhashi so I wanted to make Yatsuhashi-style cookies.TL Note: Yatsuhashi is a famous confection from Kyoto. When baked, it has a texture similar to senbei (rice crackers). When just steamed, it's usually wrapped around sweet red bean paste. They are usually given as a souvenir. All you have to do is mix together the dough. These cookies have a great texture. You might even find them too crunchy if you spread them out too thinly. Recipe by Gakkoiburi cookpad.japan -

Toasted Rice Flour Toasted Rice Flour
Though you can use store bought Mochiko flour as a very near approximation to this homemade version, toasted rice flour is relatively easy to make. This product is used often as a thickener in Thai cooking and brings a uniquely nutty flavor, along with it's textural contributions. Using the proper rice is essential here, so make sure you find specifically Thai sticky or glutinous rice. Ryan Goodwin -

A Superb Okonomiyaki made by a Kansai Person (Flour Edition) A Superb Okonomiyaki made by a Kansai Person (Flour Edition)
People from the Kansai region crave flour-based dishes at least once a week! I experimented to see how much I could replicate the taste of a restaurant, and this was the most delicious! If you make when cabbage is in season, and let the ingredients sit in the fridge, then you can make it deliciously . I also have a version using okonomiyaki flour!Point 1: Make sure to let the batter sit overnight! Let it sit for at least 2-3 hours if you want to eat it straight away! Also, make sure to thoroughly drain the water from the vegetables! This helps keep the batter soft and crunchy!Point 2: The trick to cooking the batter is to go from medium to low to high heat, and crisp the top! The insides will be fluffy! For 2-3 okonomiyaki pancakes. Recipe by yukarin0306 cookpad.japan
