Hearty stew for cold nights or quick dinners. Rice pack used in recipe can be substituted for 1 cup cooked rice.

I added lots of my hubby's favorite mushrooms to his favorite hayashi rice.By adding mushrooms, you will add a lot of great tasting stock to the stew.Microwave the onion to cut down on the cooking time.If you cool and rest the stew for a while, it will become even tastier. Rice wine is a traditional drink like a beer consume during festival back in my village. I use to help my grandma make them with sticky rice and fermented them for a few months.
