Chicken 65

It is a very popular dish in restaurants in USA, UK and India. It is a crunchy, crispy and beautiful dish which can be used as an appetizer or as a side dish in rice inclusive meal.
It's naming is interesting. In the menu this item was numbered 65. So people when ordering the dish would describe it to the waiter not remembering the actual name, he would blurt out ' Oh! You want no. 65?' So the name was established.

Take pieced and cleaned chicken in a bowl,add corn flour, wheat flour, salt, egg, ginger garlic paste, chilli powder and a few drops of red color. Mix well and leave aside for 15 minutes. Now heat enough oil in a wide pan for deep frying. When the oil is hot enough add the chicken pieces one by one and fry slowly in medium heat. When these are crispy outside remove from the oil and keep in a plate.

Now in a pan heat 1tab sp of oil. Add chopped ginger garlic, dried red chilli and saute. After one or two minutes add curry leaves, green chilli, half of chopped capsicum, spring onion and saute. Next add tomato sauce, chilli garlic sauce, reqd salt, sugar, a few drops of red color and stir well. Add a little water. When the gravy starts boiling, add the chicken pieces. Keep on stirring. If necessary you can sprinkle a little water so that the gravy mixes well with the fried chicken.

As the spices are well incorporated into the chicken sprinkle rest of the capsicum and spring onion and dish out the preparation into a serving plate. The chicken should be moist but not soggy. Voila, a crispy, cruncy, velvety red chicken dish is ready for your palate!
