Ingredients

2&1/2 hours
6-8 servings
  1. For Beef Masala:
  2. 3/4 CupOil
  3. 2large Pyaz (Onion) sliced
  4. 1/2 kgBeef mix boti
  5. 2& ½ tbs Adrak lehsan paste
  6. 2large Tamatar
  7. 1& ½ Cups Pani (Water)
  8. 1 tbsor to taste Lal mirch powder
  9. 1/2 tspHaldee powder (Turmeric powder)
  10. 1 tbsDhania powder (Coriander powder)
  11. 1/4 tspJavitri powder (Mace powder)
  12. 1/4 tspJaifil powder (Nutmeg powder)
  13. 1 tbsKashmiri lal mirch (Kashmiri red chili) powder
  14. 1& ½ tbs or to taste Namak (Salt)
  15. 1/2 tspSabut kali mirch (Black pepper corns)
  16. 1Baadiyan ka phool (Star anise)
  17. 1Badi elaichi (Black cardamom)
  18. 4-5Hari elaichi (Green cardamom)
  19. 4-5Laung (Cloves)
  20. 2Darchini (Cinnamon stick)
  21. 1Tez paat (Bay leaf)
  22. 1/2 CupDahi (Yogurt) sour
  23. 3 tbsLemon juice
  24. 1/2 bunchHara dhania (Fresh coriander)
  25. For Dum:
  26. 1/2 kgChawal (Rice) Basmati (soaked 30 minutes and boiled with salt & whole spices)
  27. 2Lemon sliced
  28. 1medium Tamatar sliced
  29. 1-2 tbsHara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped
  30. 2& ½ tbs Kewra water
  31. 1/4 tspZarda ka rang (Yellow food color)
  32. Shimla mirch
  33. French fries
  34. Fried onion

Steps

2&1/2 hours
  1. 1

    In pot,add oil and onion,fry until golden brown,take out half quantity of fried onion for later use.

  2. 2

    In remaining fried onion,add beef mix boti and mix well until meat changes color.

  3. 3

    Add ginger garlic paste and mix well for 2 minutes.

  4. 4

    Cover and cook on low flame for 5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Add tomatoes and mix well.

  6. 6

    Add water,mix and bring it to boil,cover and cook on low flame until meat is tender (approx. 1 hour).

  7. 7

    Add red chili powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder,mace powder,nutmeg powder,kashmiri red chili powder,salt,black pepper corns,star anise,black cardamom,green cardamom,cloves,cinnamon sticks and bay leaf,mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

    Add yogurt and mix well.

    Add lemon juice and fresh coriander,mix well and cook until oil separates & set aside.

  10. 10

    For Assembling:
    In separate pot,add boiled rice,beef gravy masala,lemon slices,tomato slices,fresh coriander and add remaining boiled rice.

    In kewra water,add yellow food color and mix well,drizzle over biryani.Cover and steam cook on low flame for 8-10 minutes.

    Garnish with fried onion,Smila mirch and frenc fries and serve.

  13. 13

    Enjoy this amazing Biryani.
