Ingredients

  1. 2-3medium size Karela (bitter gourd)
  2. 1big finely chopped onion
  3. 1medium size finely chopped tomato
  4. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  5. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  6. 1 tspgaram masala powder
  7. as neededJaggery
  8. to tasteSalt
  9. For tadka
  10. 2 tspoil
  11. 1/2 tspMustard seeds
  12. PinchAsafoetida
  13. 1/2 tspCumin seeds

Cooking Instructions

    Scoop out the seeds of Karela....and chop in round shape. Take a vessel add chopped karela, turmeric, salt, and water (till the edge of Karela)..... pressure cook upto 4-5 whistles

    Heat oil in kadhai....add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, hing to it.

    Add chopped onion, tomato....once the onion turns pink add red chilli powder, garam masala powder, little bit salt (because we have added salt in karela already)

    Discard the water from karela....Add cooked karela to the tadka....mix gentlygentlyp

  5. 5

    Add tbspn of jaggery....mix it....let it cook for minute or two.

    And your Masala Karela is ready.
