Heat oil in a pan. Add asafoetida, cumin seeds, curry leaves, garlic, and ginger, green chilies, peanuts and tamarind, then cook on a medium flame.

After the ingredients get cooked, add brinjal, tomato and salt in it.

After mixing the ingredients cover it with a lid for 3-5 min. to let the brinjal get soft.

Let it cool for some time then grind it in a blender. Serve it as a side dish.
