Ingredients

42 Cookies
  1. 2 1/2 CupsWholemeal (Atta) Flour
  2. 6 TablespoonsSoftened Butter/ Margarine
  3. 1 CupSugar
  4. 3/4 CupsMilk
  5. 1/2 tspBaking Soda
  6. Pinchsalt

Cooking Instructions

    In a saucepan combined sugar, milk and baking soda and heat on low and stir until the mixture becomes frothy. Set aside to cool a bit.

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt then rub in the butter with your hands until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

    Add in the milk- baking soda mixture and use your hands to combine the whole mixture into a dough.

    Remove the dough from the bowl onto a working surface. Divide into manageable pieces and roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/8 an inch. Cut out into desired shapes and poke holes on the cookies. The dough is very fragile so handle carefully.

    Bake at 180 degrees centigrade for 12 minutes. Allow the cookies to cool on the cooling rack. Store in an airtight container.

Hi, I'm trying this cooking recipe and stage 3, there's leftover from the mixture in step 1.. How soft is the dough supposed to be?
