This vegetarian dish is easy and tastes great. You can use onions instead of leeks. If you do use onions, let the first batch caramelize really well....it's worth it!!

Rice alone is boring but mixed with lentils and some onions it's another story! Goes really well with some sauteed veggies for example.

There are so many ways to make this. Sometimes I add rice before water, sometimes after. Sometimes I add peppers sometimes I don't. You will find what works best for your stove & tastes.

Porridge with Vegetables..

A lentils and rice puree. It is easy to prepare and can be eaten warm or cold. A dish that cannot be ignored! Every Lebanese family has it at least once a week. Excellent with fattoush salad.

I love rice but I prefer to add vegetables. This recipe calls for celery, carrots, onions, and hot peppers, but you can substitute any other vegetables. Rice freezes really well so I like to make a big batch and then freeze in 1-2 cup amounts.
