Ingredients

  1. 50 mlodourless vegetable oil
  2. 100 ggranulated brown sugar (powdered)
  3. 2 tbspMaida
  4. 100 mlmilk + 1/2 TSP vinegar
  5. 150 gfine sooji
  6. 1/2 tspbaking powder
  7. 1/4th tsp baking soda
  8. Pinchsalt
  9. Handfultooti frooti
  10. 1/2 tspvanilla essence

Cooking Instructions

    In a mixing bowl, put oil, brown sugar and mix.
    As it's nicely mixed,add Maida and mix that too nicely by gradually adding milk vinegar mixture.

    As you get a smooth lump free mixture,add a pinch of salt and mix. Add vanilla essence, mix that too.

    Next add baking powder, baking soda and mix well but don't overwork.

    Next add the star ingredient,sooji.gradually go on adding milk- vinegar mixture and mix the sooji.

    The cake batter becomes nice and smooth. Add milk and vinegar mixture carefully, as not all of it will be used.

    As the perfect consistency is obtained, take a cake baking tin / mould. Do greesing if required.

    Pour in the batter into the mould.
    Prior to this preheat your oven / microwave for 10 minutes at 180 degree.

    As batter is in the mould garnish with some tooti frooti. Tap to remove extra air bubbles and make the batter even from all sides.

    Now place this for baking at 180 degrees for 25 minutes.

    After baking check by poking,if fork comes out clean,it's done...

    Bring it out of the oven and let it cool. As it cools down,demould.

    Soft, moist sooji cake is ready to be served...

    If you like more soft and sweeter version.
    Then make one string sugar syrup(1 sugar : 1 water). Poke the cake with fork and pour this syrup. Keep for some time. The cake absorbs the syrup. Cut and serve.
