Cooking Instructions
- 1
Sear the vegetarian meat in a buttered pan until it gives texture.
- 2
Set aside the vegetarian meat without washing the pan and add the diced onions into the pan.
- 3
Stir fry until onion colour has turned to a darker shade.
- 4
Add sugar depending on your liking. I use 2 spoons for 1 whole onion.
- 5
Stir fry until it is light brownish and add minced garlic. I use one slice of garlic only.
- 6
Add one spoonful of Bolognese Sauce to the mixture.
- 7
Add Paprika into the pan and stir fry until even brownish red is achieved. You may add enough Paprika by covering the onions with a thin layer of it. 1-2 spoons is enough.
- 8
Transfer the mix into a pot and add the vegetarian meat into the pot too.
- 9
Fill pot with water until the water level reaches food level inside the pot.
- 10
Boil the Goulash for 15 mins.
- 11
Add the Mixed Herbs, Bayleaf and spoonfuls of Pepper depending on your liking.
- 12
Cover and leave to simmer for 45 mins.
- 13
Goulash is ready to serve.
- 14
If Goulash is too watery. Add some cornstarch or flour to thicken the soup.

Hungarian Goulash Hungarian Goulash
I keep seeing all these fancy intricate recipies for goulash...which at its heart isn't real goulash ...Hungarian goulash is a dish born in times of hardship, fancy ingredients would not have been on hand. The people of villages would gather together with what they had to make what they could. Usually a traditional goulash is simply going to be meat usually beef or mutton, what ever veggies were on hand and egg noodles ( cheap and easy to make). Sure it's a humble dish but a tasty one and cheap to make SenileMole -

Hungarian Beef Goulash (Marhagulyás) Hungarian Beef Goulash (Marhagulyás)
Why I shared this recipe?I’m from Hungary, where beef goulash is one of our most beloved traditional dishes. I grew up eating it at family gatherings, and over the years, I’ve perfected my own version. I’m sharing this recipe to introduce American home cooks to the rich flavors of authentic Hungarian cuisine. I hope this comforting, hearty soup brings as much joy to your table as it does to ou Nagy Csaba -
